Privacy Notice
Effective Date: October 19, 2026 · We believe reading technical journalism should never require compromising your digital privacy.
1. The Zero-Surveillance Promise
SoBasically is built as a static broadsheet. We do not use third-party tracking scripts, advertising pixels, invasive analytics beacons, or behavioral fingerprinters.
- Zero Tracking Cookies: We do not set marketing, ad-targeting, or cross-site tracking cookies on your device.
- Zero Client-Side JavaScript for Reading: Our editorial pages render pure semantic HTML and CSS with 0 kB client JavaScript for reading.
- No Data Brokering: We never sell, monetize, license, or share user browsing data with third-party data brokers or AI model trainers.
2. Technical & Edge Infrastructure Logs
To ensure global availability, rapid delivery, and protection against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, our static distribution is routed through Cloudflare Pages edge points of presence.
Standard transient HTTP request headers (such as IP addresses, User-Agent strings, and requested resource paths) may be processed in volatile edge memory strictly for request routing and threat mitigation. These logs are automatically purged in accordance with standard edge retention windows.
3. Your Rights Under GDPR & CCPA/CPRA
Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), visitors possess legal rights regarding personal data processing.
Because SoBasically does not collect personal identity dossiers, user accounts, or tracking profiles, we retain no persistent personal records to disclose, rectify, or delete. If you correspond with our desk via email, your correspondence is retained solely to address your editorial inquiry.
